Pantry and kitchen makeovers may sound like a cosmetic undertaking, however when it comes to your health it’s all about purging out “food” what is processed and engineered in a lab with painstaking precision to appear to be real food, when it is anything but.

People can easily mistake boredom for hunger.

Face it, when you’re home alone in the house especially if you work from home, people can easily mistake boredom for hunger. Being only one to two rooms away from unhealthy, but engineered to taste good foods can sometimes be too tempting to resist. You’re not alone. I’ve designed this part of my overall program to help people with snacking on the wrong kinds of foods.

You’re going to learn why processed foods are not a good choice. I will give you a quick tutorial about food engineering; flavor additives and processing aids, which don’t need to be reported as an ingredient, though they leave a toxic residue on our foods to keep a fruit salad for 21 days past the sell-by date, for example. I will show you how to replace them with real foods that can satisfy your hunger, or boredom.

With the Kitchen and Pantry makeover, you’ll learn:

How to identify items that sabotage your health

This will start with the Grocery Shopping Tour. The best thing that can happen is that these foods never make their way past your front door.

Recommend “must have” items to keep stocked at all times.

There are so many good choices to make, like raw nuts, low sugar yogurts, BPA-free cans of sardines, Kippers and other small fish just to name a few.

Do’s and don’ts of processed foods

Convenience foods, or “processed” foods runs the gamut from being lethal to healthy. I’ll help identify items in your pantry that are sabotaging your health and those that aren’t. We all need some convenience foods in our pantry for those times where we just don’t have the time. Make sure the ones you do have are quick but healthy choices.

Beneficial spices and herbs

Some of the most nutrient-dense foods in the world are spices and herbs. Everyone should have lots of them in their pantry as they are extremely important antioxidants and a good source for many vitamins. Plus they do wonders for food.  We’’ll see what you have, and how long you’ve had them, as they loss their flavor and efficacy after about a year or so. Then I’ll make recommendations of the best to keep on hand. Don’t know how to use them? No problem! I’ll give you plenty of ideas and recipes so you’ll be a regular spice girl or boy in no time.

How to arrange your pantry

Yes, you read that right. There is actually a science how to arrange your pantry. Let me give you some tips that will save you time, energy, shelf-life of products, and save you from temptation (hint: if you have kids and must stock their treats, keep them as deep and far away from the eye as possible).

Discuss cookware and cookware toxins

Did you know that some cookware leaches heavy metals into your body known to contribute towards Alzheimer’s? We’ll take a look at what you have and make some recommendations. Good cookware can be expensive, but it’s even more expensive in the long haul if your health is compromised by wrong cookware. For example did you know that non-stick coated pans contain a synthetic polymer from the DuPont company called polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and is part of what is known as the perfluorinated chemical family(PCF). In just two minutes on a conventional stove cookware coated with this begins to break down the coating and emits toxic particles and gases. It’s been known to kill pet birds.

Inventory of small appliances and what the healthiest choices are

Small appliances are great, and some are essential to a healthy kitchen. We’ll discuss what you already have and what other pieces would take you to the next level in healthy food preparation. Small appliances like a juicer, blender, and the Magic Bullet make delivery of vitamins and nutrients to the cellular level a seamless transition.

Isn’t it interesting how the kitchen and pantry seem to be the heart and soul of the home? It’s where we all gravitate to.

Let’s make it a place of vibrant health as I help you in this essential makeover to make it the most life-giving spot in your home.

Don’t live locally in the Las Vegas area? No problem. This is very easy to do virtually if you have a smart phone or tablet.
